June 3, 2012 – The DuSable Museum

Chicago, IL – Once again, Morris Gearring, Nikki Giovanni and Maggie Brown returned to the DuSable Museum to perform their tribute to Oscar Brown Jr.’s music that reflects and highlights the African American Experience on the South Side of Chicago. The centerpiece of the show revolved around Oscar’s Jitney Jack, a spoken word piece that pays homage to the cab drivers “Jitneys” on the South Side and the people that they encountered on a daily basis.
